It has an annotation in pencil bottom left 1st Pull Print, this would have been the first pull-proof print before the edition. This print has a lovely atmospheric plate tone and is one of several that Eddy made of steam trains, a popular subject for him.
Born in Melbourne in 1917 Eddy was an artist and printmaker producing etchings, mezzotints and monotypes. Works by George Eddy are held by the National Gallery of Australia.
